Our Board is broadly representative of our diverse community. Board members commit their time, talent and financial resources in service to their community. The Foundation's Nominating Committee, including both Directors and community at-large members, continually receives and reviews suggestions for appropriate persons to fill available Board positions. After nomination by this committee, Board members are elected by the current Board, serving 3-year terms, up to a maximum of 6 consecutive years. Board members are expected to attend regular board meetings, along with a variety of committee meetings and community events.

Committees of volunteers (both Board and community members) recommend grant awards from unrestricted and donor-designated field of interest funds for Board approval through several different processes. Committees for each field of interest assess community needs, research available resources, develop initiative projects and/or solicit proposals that meet specific criteria for each funding cycle. Committees review proposals and submit recommendations to the Board for approval. Committees then monitor the use of funds and project outcomes. Grants and disbursements are also made through component Funds of the Foundation, according to the charitable terms of specific Fund Agreements between the donor(s) and the Foundation.

We serve Claremont, California and surrounding communities. We understand that many issues and needs are regional in nature; accordingly, we receive funding and offer support to projects that benefit the citizens of the foothills communities from Glendora through Rancho Cucamonga, as well as Pomona, Montclair, Chino, Chino Hills, and Ontario.
