Let's begin with one of the hippest martinis in town. Your choice: Pomegranate or Lychee, each expertly fashioned by Claremont's very own Lisa Copenhaver, of Tutti Mangia fame. Of course, hearty hors d'oeuvres will be in abundance. Sit back and absorb the ambiance of Doms Lounge, a slinky little secret of Pomona College, as you prepare for Act II of the evening: Dividing the Light, the James Turrell skyspace. Heightening your awareness of light and sky, Skyspace should not be missed. Steve Comba, Assistant Director of the Pomona College Museum of Art, and Jim Mitchell, sculptor and owner of Amazing Steel, will take you on the sunset tour, describing the history, construction process and experience of the one-hour lighting program. Zoe will bring a few examples of what she sees in the marketplace today. She'll talk about markings and hallmarks and what they mean, auction houses and how they work, the pros and cons of selling on eBay, hints on handling and storage of linens, silver, etc. She will then share her knowledge about the treasures and collectibles that are presented by the guests.
Zoe TeBeau, I.S.A., is a Certified Appraiser of Residential Contents specializing in American and European antiques and collectibles. She is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers.

We take the Metrolink in to visit LA's historic roots at Olvera Street, its grand architectural foundations at the Bradbury Building, Union Station, the Fine Arts Building, and the Central Library, and its spectacular newcomers: Disney Concert Hall and visit inside the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, passing other landmark structures and public artworks on the way. There are two gentle slopes on this mildly paced walk but not hill climbing. Time will be provided for you to find and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Grand Central Market.
